one day session · saturday august 29
your self tape called.
it wants a word.
15 actors. one saturday. the stuff nobody talks about that makes all the difference.
I've sent in a lot of bad self-tapes. Like, a lot. Poorly lit, weirdly framed, eye lines all over the place. The acting may have been arguably wonderful :), but you wouldn't have known it because the tape looked like I was filming myself during a mild emergency.
Eventually, I got better at the technical stuff. Clearing away the noise meant casting could actually see what was happening in the scene.
We'll shoot real sides and watch the footage back. You'll leave with concrete feedback you can use the next time an ecocast lands in your inbox. The goal is a tape that's professional, competitive, and working as hard as you are.
This session is for actors who may be working on booking their first co-star role. Chances are, you're closer than you think. Let's get your tape there too.

why this session
I'm a working actor who's been in the self-tape trenches for a while. I won't list my credits here because that's obnoxious, but you can find them on IMDb if you really want to know. I've also spent a lot of time on the other side, watching tapes while casting our own projects or producing others'.
I've worked with a lot of actors on their auditions and have a pretty good idea of what actually moves the needle. Watching them go on to book TV, film, and commercial work is genuinely the best part.
Rooting for you to win is my kind of thing.
Oh, and one more thing. This isn't meant to replace your regular scene study or acting class. You should stay in that. This session is a supplement. At this time I'm only planning to do one unless it's a "back by popular demand" situation lol. Hope to see you on August 29.
